CONNECTING PATHWAYS

Alexandria Piccinini, Associate Educational Therapist

“I want my children to understand the world, but not just because the world is fascinating and the human mind is curious. I want them to understand it so that they will be positioned to make it a better place”
Howard Gardner

Youth considered "at-risk" for academic and social emotional failure are actually "at-promise" for a brighter future, improved outcomes and raised expectations. For children and adolescents with learning differences or developmental trauma, success might seem unattainable. As an educational therapist, I assist youth in reaching their full potential by utilizing their strengths to remediate their weaknesses. Every brain is uniquely different and I cater to each individual's learning needs to promote confidence and self-efficacy.

What Is An Educational Therapist?

An educational therapist deals with the emotional aspects of learning in addition to helping academic performance. I differ from a tutor in that I do not focus on improving grades in a particular subject, but rather focus on improving learning as a whole. The strategies the student learns applies beyond the classroom and helps daily life functioning.

I care about all of my clients and want them to succeed even after services are no longer provided. For this reason, I provide therapeutic educational interventions that are catered to my clients’ specific needs so that they can build the blocks for lifelong learning.
